Hi, I’m Mike, and I’m traveling the world hunting for the genuine stories of human spirit. On this site, we gather practical wisdom, creative tales, and community successes. I have spent my life navigating complex landscapes—first through decades in the tech industry, managing a jewelry design business and later crossing open oceans.
Out on the water, many know me as "Popeye." It is a nickname earned from the tattoos on my forearms—anchors to remind me of the inner strength we must draw on when things get tough, and a tin of spinach to remind me to eat well! I needed every ounce of that grit and fuel when I spent three years hand-building a 19-foot wooden yacht with my son in Noosa to compete single-handed in Don McIntyre’s grueling Mini Globe Race.
Before testing my limits against the sea, my world was Information Technology. There, I learned how to look past the data noise to map out core architecture and logic.
I then moved onto managing a jewelry design business where my eyes were opened by artisans viewing this amazing world.
Today, I am on a different kind of expedition. I travel the world as a Story Hunter, tracking down the most valuable currency we have: human wisdom. Many stories are lost and memories fade. I use the analytical focus of an IT veteran and the deep patience of an ocean mariner to help everyday people uncover their own unique blueprints. Together, we can extract and relive the "Stories of Value" that connect us all.
